Since 1943
Fremont Street Nursery opened its door in 1943 to care for the children of mothers who had gone to work to support their families during World War II. It is the oldest licensed child care center in the City of Winchester. Providing more than 70 years of child care services. Fremont continues the tradition of providing quality care for children so their parents can work without worry or concern.
How we serve
Fremont has provided affordable quality care since 1943. It has a dedicated staff of 15. Fremont was awarded the 2018 Top of Virginia Chamber Small Business Award. Featured in the local papers numerous times, acknowledging the care it provides.,
Our Services
Three Nutritional Meals
Breakfast, lunch and a afternoon snack is prepared by our Kitchen Manager and served daily. All food is CACFP approved.
Children Assessments
All children are assessed in the Spring and Fall using the LAP and PALS assessment tools. This is to ensure that each child has age appropriate skills.
Learning Through Play
Through play, children learn a set of skills: social skills, creativity, hand-eye coordination, problem solving, and imagination.
TLC
Daily care and playful, loving interactions build strong bonds. By providing consistent, loving care the teachers strengthen their relationship with the children they care for and build a healthy attachment.
